Desktop Computer Hardware Faults

If you own a desktop computer and it is out of its warranty period, it is likely that it has faults with various hardware. If it currently does not have any faults it is likely that it will eventually develop faults with various hardware parts. Hadware faults that are common include

  • The harddrive disk. You are likely to need to replace your harddrive in your computers life time.
  • RAM. Most computers have multiple RAM sticks. If one stick goes faulty it can prevent your computer from working.

It is unlikely that your motherboard will simply break. If it does though there is a chance that a replacement will not be possible depending on the age of your computer. Hardware faults in motherboards are often caused by static or from long term dust exposure. If we can replace a motherboard, we will. It is also unlikely that your CPU will break. You should however have the paste that is on your CPU replaced every other year to prevent overheating.

We can replace hardware faults in under 30 minutes in most cases. Preventive steps such as cleaning the parts and replacing the paste can also be completed in under 30 minutes. If we do not have the hardware onsite we may need to take the computer back to the workshop.

We will always consult the customer before proceeding with repairing any hardware faults on their computer.
